reading wrap up

The second quarter of this year has been truly busy and eventful in terms of social life and too much adulting. Ugh! Tell me about it. However, despite it all, I was still able to throw in 5 books each per month.

So here is my reading wrap up for the second quarter of 2016.

Wrap Up for April

My APRIL reads consist of a debut novel (Burning Muses), a free Wattpad novel (Too Late), a first book in a series (The Girl in 6E) and two books from new-to-me authors (Sparrow and Desperately Seeking Epic).

Here are the reviews I did for APRIL:

Wrap Up for May2

MAY was an awfully busy month for me – a lot of birthday celebrations, festivals and it’s also summertime here in our country so it’s basically a month of getaways, trips and vacations. With 5 books read under my belt, I was only able to review a few.

I read Tapping the Billionaire to give in to peer pressure. There’s this set who loved it so much and there’s this set who cannot even get through half. So I got curious and got it to see for myself. It was an enjoyable read, nothing too special – just a fun and funny means to pass time.

On the other hand, I’ve always had the In the Company of Killers series but haven’t read them yet. I could almost kick myself for letting it sit on my Kindle this long. Killing Sarai is amazing, deliciously done and exciting. I will make sure to finish this series this year. That, I promise to myself and to the blogging oath watcher.

I got Smut and Dear Heart I Hate You after reading Sarai because I needed it! I needed to read something light and fun after the darkness in Killing Sarai. In all fairness, both these books delivered.

Lastly, Me Before You is a book that I’ve always had – be it in kindle copy or paperback. It’s just that I kept delaying reading it until closer to movie release date to spare myself multiple emotional breakdowns. Wise eh?

Wrap Up for JuneHello my birth month!

JUNE was an exciting reading month for me. For starters, I met another new-to-me author and as much as I promised myself to stick to more standalones this year (versus series), I couldn’t help but dive into book two right away. I’m talking about L.B. Simmons and her Under the Influence and Out of Focus duology which is now in a series with The Resurrection of Aubrey Miller (which I’m yet to read and recently rebranded with a new title “Into the Light” as well as with a new cover).

Also I dove into two ARCs this month, one from Melanie Harlow and another from Trudy Stiles. After these two romances, I decided to switch to fantasy after months of not reading one. I think the last fantasy I have read was Red Queen and that was way back January. Anyway, A Court of Thorns and Roses is unbelievably good. The plot was well developed, the characters built in solid foundation and the story just flows. I was highly engaged from start to finish and I will definitely write a review for that one soon (once I finish my other ARC obligations and most likely once I finish ACOMAF)

There you have it, my SECOND QUARTER in a nutshell. It may not have been much but most of these range from 3 – 5 stars. I have loved majority of what I have read this quarter and only fell in like with a few of them. Not bad at all.

How about you? How was your second quarter like? 🙂
