Throw in a cynic and a looking-for-love guy who looks like Dima (oh wait IT IS DIMA!!) together and you have a whole lot of fun sexy times coming your way.
Harlow did it again! She most certainly did! Brandishing out stories that are fun, light and easy to read seems to come easy peasy for our girl here. She creates romantic comedies flawlessly, brings lovable characters to life that we can relate to and fall in love with.
I can be a bit picky when it comes to romantic comedies. I cringe when it’s over the top, I roll my eyes when it’s a bit too much. I want to cry in frustration when the interaction is too forced. But Melanie does it oh so well that you find yourself identifying with one or more of her characters and relating certain aspects of your life to her stories. Man Candy, true to its title is a delicious story of love and friendship given the chance to blossom a second time around. This story is real and fun but it is refreshing to read a story wherein the emotions somehow go the other way around. Most often, it is the male characters with the baggage and the hesitancy to fall in love. To see a beautiful and accomplished woman try to shun all possible emotional attachment especially if it’s with a fun and sexy Quinn is a definite page turner.
Jaime and Quinn’s friendship and love story is a delight to read. Given, the sexual chemistry is beyond incredible but what draws me in even more is how real these two seem to be. Jaime is accomplished and driven. She is the modern woman. But beyond the tough exterior and independent demeanor is a woman with insecurities, fears and doubts. How Quinn responded to Jaime’s uncertainties is truly endearing and it is heart melting how he talks about his mother and his love for her. Quinn and Jaime had a rocky history. They basically knew each other their whole lives. But their love story truly started when they were both adults, more experienced in life and possibly more matured.
I highly recommend this book especially to the women who somehow lost faith in love. Who, due to life experiences became cynical and jaded and doubtful — this story is yours. That maybe, in this crazy life, there is a Quinn Rusek waiting for you.
FOUR QUINNING STARS!
Not just back in town, but living in the flat right beneath mine. And he looks good enough to eat, which is just one more reason to stay away from him.
But I can’t resist.
The sex is incredible (pretty sure we’ve shaken the house right off its foundation), but he can’t fool me—not this time. A degree in marketing and five years in advertising have taught me that “true love” is a fairy tale used to sell lipstick, diamonds, and perfume. It doesn’t exist.
He thinks I’m wrong, and he wants to prove it.
I think he’s crazy, so I dare him to try.
It might be the biggest mistake of my life.
